OK to run PSU with minimal overhead temporarily?

Due to a DOA power supply, I'm left with a brand new build minus power supply. Will wait for RMA but would really like to use the new system in the meantime. I do have an older working PSU from an older system. It should be enough to power the new system, but without a ton of overhead.

* The new system is rated at 274W by pcpartpicker.
* The old power supply is a 380W Seasonic.
* The DOA power supply is 550W (overly generous, but wanted room to grow)

I've read that you ideally want at least 60% overhead on the PSU. The 380W would be less than 40%. Is it OK to run that in the new system for a week or so until the replacement PSU arrives? Or should I hold off? I've read that the recommended overhead is mainly to prolong the life of the PSU, and that's not a big concern here, as long as it lasts the week and doesn't damage any of the components.

Thanks!

60% overhead ?? Don't now where you've heard that but no , thats completely nuts.

Max I ever go over is 20% for headroom when building on a budget .

A system rated 274w on partpicker is likely to be sub 200w in real world use.

A 380w seasonic is going to run that fine.
