Question okay so i have a mac hard drive that has importnat data on it and i cant load into mac to see them

how do i get around this and when i try to load it goes to the utility screen. i go into disk management or what ever its called its all under other and all the other coloums contain 0kbs of storage which they shouldn't there hold be photos in the photos colum
