Okay to upgrade with different size RAM sticks?

Hello, I was recommended to open my computer and check to see the name and frequency of the RAM and I did so, but when looking to buy the same type I found them but they only sell them in 2 2GB sticks instead of 1 4GB stick, I was wondering if it matters having 2 4GB sticks with 2 2GB sticks at the same time

Same brand and same frequency no problem. Sometime even not same brand but same frequency works. So just to be safe, get same brand and same frequency. The size won't matter. The only disadvantage is your filling up your memory slots with lower size RAM.
