Hello everyone, I am planning on building a gaming PC in December/Early January. I already know the parts that I will be using, but I was wondering about operating system options.

More specifically, I heard recently that you can download the Windows 10 OS, and load it to a new computer, but when it says to enter an activation, you can skip the step. This now has your PC have an "Inactivated" version of windows 10. I've heard that the only limitation is some customization and the occasional nagging of Microsoft telling you to upgrade. I was wondering if this is a viable option, and that if anyone out there has done this, and what they have thought so far. It's not a big deal if I can't, but I try my best to save my money where I can.

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Solution
An operating system costs what it costs. It's just as vital a component of your build as your processor. Just buy it.

P.S. Tom's Hardware does not support software piracy in any way, shape, or form.

Alright, I wasn't at all planning on pirating anything, no worries.
