Old Acer laptop - no Win7 drivers available?

I have been working on a friend's laptop (an Acer TravelMate 4062) and have done a clean install of Windows 7 (it was previously running XP).

Unfortunately I'm not getting any sound. All the drivers on the Acer site for that particular model are for XP only and the VGA driver that I downloaded & installed is not working - probably unsurprisingly. The Video Controller is currently showing in 'Other devices' with a yellow exclamation mark.

Any thoughts?

Yeah. Make sure you can get the drivers before doing something like that.
Put XP back on it, and call it a day.

Ok thanks. I'll probably stick a linux distro on it and see how that goes.
