Hello,
I CANT GET MY NEW LOGITECH USB MICE AND KEYBOARD TO BE RECOGNIZED IN THIS OLD DEAR COMPUTER...I THINK IT HAS USB PORTS BUT IT STILL DOESNT RECOGNIZE MY PERIPERALS...AFTER POWER OFF THEN ON OF COURSE.

See if in the bios your usb ports are enabled, option are legacy ports usb 1.5mbps or 12mbps/480mbps.

Boot up into bios and make sure USB port is enabled. If that doesn't solve the problem 2nd option is to enable USB Mouse and Keyboard otpion in Bios. Bios buttons are delete-f2-f10-f12 It depends what your screen says also!
 
Does it see any USB devices or is this the first USB device you used?

Can you even get into the BIOS using the keyboard? That means that the ports themselves are good, if they were not, the keyboard would not work at all.

Also you should list your OS. To get USB support you need to be using at least Win95B, regular Win95 does not have USB support without external drivers.

On win 95 - 98 no usb mouse would ever detect or work for me, had to always use PS2 conector, keybaord did work on USB, good indicator if its picking up is simply.. is the numlock light coming on? if yes ur geting power!

Then what other people have surgested.
