Old Amd drivers left behind?

I recently got a gigabyte R9 270x. I did all of the necessary things to install it, uninstalled old drivers and whatnot, but it seems to me that a driver of some sorts is still present in my pc. The driver: "AMD_Catalyst_12.6_vista-7_32-64". Im not sure whether I should uninstall or leave it be, for I have a AMD cpu also. Furthermore, my r9 270x seems to have flicking issues. By this, I mean the screen literally flicks up and down when I am watching a video or on a browser. I have heard it may be the bios of my gpu. Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

go to your AMD folder and find the old driver and run it. And uninstall.
Well do it for your current ones too. Then go to Device Manager -> Display adapters -> Right click on your graphics card and uninstall.
Then delete all AMD folder in C:/
Then go to Windows update and Change settings.
Choose "Download but let me choose what to install"
Restart PC.
Install the new drivers.

Will this matter if I have an AMD cpu? I read that I could uninstall important cpu files . Also, why change windows upgrade settings?

The cpu doesnt have any drivers or files dont worry. Changes windows update settings, so it wont install any windows default drivers for your graphics card or an integrated one. Just change the setting again after you install the latest drivers

Ok, now do I uninstall every single amd folder, or just the one that the driver is installed in? including ati folders?

I believe it has fixed both problems, thanks! :D
Edit: wait, so should i just follow the guide even after doing what d1versity said? Flicking is still present during videos.
