Old Compaq Desktop won't turn on

I have an old Compaq desktop laying around the house. It is a compaq presario s4000v. It does not turn on. What should I do. Could I buy a new power supply or does it need an older power supply. If that is the problem. I did take it apart, but this is after I couldn't turn it on. Should I try putting it all back together to see if that solves the problem. If not should I buy a new Power Supply. Any input is awesome. Thanks!

Could be literally ANYTHING.

It's impossible to troubleshoot anything on it until it's getting power, so the obvious component to replace first is the PSU, then take it from there.

Don't go throwing much money at it though, if it's an old HP/Compaq it's not worth it.

Yeah but I mean I did look and saw I may be able to get a little bit of money for some parts on eBay, and I have some photos from the hard drive I would like to retrieve

If you have a desktop, put the HDD in there and get your photos.
