Old computer games from the 90s

There was this computer game that took place in outer space. It was a game show with alien hosts, and before you played the game, you got to create a commercial and could choose from three different products. In the middle of the game show, your commercial would pop up. The game show had math, typing and reading challenges. There was also a choose-your-own-destiny reading part of the game. Does anyone know what game this is?

They said it was Space Quest.

This isn't Space Quest though. Space Quest wasn't educational, and I don't recall that game show (unless it happened later in Space Quest 6, which I never finished).
