Couldn't really find the right forum here, so I guess this one applies.

Hi,

I'm running Ubuntu on a Dell GX260 I got for $30. However, it has just stock components and although Ubuntu runs ok, it definitely needs a jump in performance. Right now it is a Pentium 4 running @ 2.4GHz, 256MB DDR RAM, and 845G intergrated graphics. It has an open AGP slot, and an open RAM slot...so....

I want to be able to run Compiz graphics, have some widgets, maybe something from Stardock. That is fairly graphically intensive..so...

Can I be running a very fast/capable system with:

- Pentium 4 2.4GHz
- Nvidia GeForce 6200
- 1.25 GB of RAM?

Upgrades will cost about $60-70, and I am in no market for a new computer.

Thanks. Just looking for opinions or anything else that could be added.
