Question Old CPU issues

Hello,
I have i5-6400 from 2015. After some game updates my keyboard and mouse stop working at the same time and I found out I have permanently 100 % CPU usage in games. Can the high CPU usage cause mouse and keyboard issues?

I did a complete factory reset of my Windows 10 and ran Windows defender before and after. Didn't find anything. I'll check the temperature as soon as I can.

I'd boot a linux live cd/usb and check it there too.
