Alright so I have a lenovo h520s with an intel core i5 3330, and 4 gigs of ram would I be able to take the cpu out of the factory made lenovo and be able to put it in a new motherboard of my choice? PS: sorry if i'm in the wrong section

Solution
Yes, as long as the CPU fits in the motherboard socket you should be good to go. For example of I had a LGA1366 socket on my motherboard I could put in whatever CPU I wanted that would fit. If I had a motherboard with an AM3+ socket or LGA1155 that same CPU wouldn't work. Each socket has a different number or layout of pins/contacts but as long as the CPU and CPU socket match up you should be fine.
