Old CPU overclocking

Hello, I have a Pentium Dual-Core E5200 2.5ghz CPU (About 8 yrs old).

If I overclock it to 3ghz, would it ''survive''?

Depends from your motherboard,your cpu cooler and your psu.So whats your system?

Cooler: Stock, full of dust.

Propably not,especially with stock cooler.But you can buy a very cheap core 2 quad from ebay,which would better than a core 2 duo at 3ghz.

Yes you pretty much can. I overclock my Pentium E6600 to 3.5ghz from 3ghz on my P5G41T-M LX3 and it's stable(but i use an aftermarket cooler)
