Old/Crappy Ram Help please!

My Friend is looking to upgrade his computer to make it run faster. I've already gotten rid of his 1000 toolbars and 50 start up programs and all the malware/spyware that I could find.

He is currently running:
AMD Phenom II X61035T 2.6GHZ Processor
Some sort of low end graphics card (irrelevant)
3 - ELPIDA 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600U-9-10-B0 RAM
a basic low end 1 TB HDD P/N ???
and the motherboard is another big ???? for a model

I was thinking to add an SSD for his operating system and upgrading his Ram, question is what RAM is compatible with the system based on the old RAM and what options do I have to make it faster?

Is this processor just going to bottleneck if we throw in some higher end RAM?

Add another 10600 stick with the same voltage and frequency.

Try CPUZ for system info and for RAM upgrade info, Crucial has a great system scanner that can tell you all you need about the RAM and what to look for: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner

The processor is still pretty decent and if wanting better speed, you could get a good cooler and OC it. SSD mainly effects loading speeds when starting or when closing programs. While not a bad addition, If you want performance, RAM and maybe a GPU would be better.

Note: If running Windows 32-bit, the computer wont recognize more than 3.5-4gb RAM. If the motherboard can handle more than 4gb and you want more than 4gb, you would need to be running 64-bit Windows.
