Question Old Dell latitude D620 - WiFi replacement card with modern standards

Background: I'm setting up this old laptop with Linux Mint and give it away to a family that need this for the kids school work (only web based, no heavy cpu/ram load expected).

The problem is the age of the laptop and thereby the WiFi card is so old that it cannot realistically connect to any WiFi networks. So I'm looking to see if it's possible to replace the existing WiFi card.

What I know so far:
  • How to physically replace the internal WiFi card.
What I do NOT know (yet)
  • The interface that the WiFi card is connected to (the manual from maualslib <link> doesn't specify)
  • If this WiFi card have a standardized form factor or if it's made only for Dell specific
  • If it exist a replacement card that support modern WiFi standards.

WiFi card data according to manual:
WLAN card, wireless switch with Dell™ Wi-Fi Catcher™
technology, internal card with Bluetooth® wireless technology, and Dell Mobile Broadband card.

My question is - Does it exist a WiFi replacement card for Dell Latitude D620, and anyone having any experience replacing the WiFi card ?

Na, I used duckduckgo maybe that is why I missed this link 🤔

Ok, so then I should look for a wifi card type "4965agn". Thank you 😀
That will provide you with a known functional dual band WIFI. Is there something better (AC/AX)? Maybe. BUT this is a verified upgrade. That is probably cheap if you can find one.
