Hey guys, I currently have an ancient dell motherboard running my 2 GPUs for mining. But my fan controller for the CPU is fried. It only outputs about 2-3 volts. So right now I have an old fan that I spliced and attached it to the molex power pins. This fan keeps it cool but everytime I boot it up, I get the cpu fan error because there isn’t a fan on the header. Because of this message I have to press F1 to continue. This is very inconvenient because I don’t have constant access to the machine. I already tried disabling the error in the BIOS with no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks

There’s nothing about fan speeds on the BIOS. The fan header is about 12 volts without anything plugged in. But whenever I plug in the fan, it goes down to about 2 volts. (Not enough to get it spinning)

Did you try a different fan?
The fan fail message won't clear itself even if you fix the problem. You have to go into Miantenance/SYSLOG or ERROR LOG in the BIOS and clear it manually.
YES every time. Maybe power the fan off of the Molex but connect the RPM, and PWM wire to the MB header so it thinks there's a fan there.

That’s what I was thinking but i would hate to splice all those wires and jerry rig it.
