This is a question you won't see too much anymore....
I have an older HP a1240n which runs a Pentium 4 3.0Ghz CPU and Windows XP 32-bit)
It doesn't have any AGP slots or PCIe slots...just regular old PCI. I just upgraded the CPU up to a 3.4Ghz and went from 1GB memory up to a whopping 4GB.
I'm building a gaming computer for myself (totally separate matter but I'm mentioning it before anyone tells me I should upgrade and get a new system...I just did
)''
But I digress..... but to be nice, I wanted to add a 3D graphics card to the wife's HP "work" desktop ....so that she can occasionally take a break and play some older PC 3D type games, such as "Frogger" and stuff like that, while in her home office. Nothing too hardcore or demanding if you get my drift.
I still ...but don't know why...have my old Diamond Monster 3D 3dfx Voodoo1 4MB PCI, that I bought way back in the late 90's...which is PCI but I read that since its so old, getting it to work with Windows XP is a problem.
Since this is not going to be for hardcore gaming...any suggestions on a decent older 3d card that will fit the build for what I'm looking to do?
I'm sure the best of these old cards in PCI are now pretty dirt cheap on ebay etc. Any suggestions?
