However, the pc recognises the printer is there on start-up but will not print at all. Any suggestions?

G Guest Guest Feb 24, 2010 #3 I would check the various settings in the BIOS for the LPT port -- bi-directional etc. One of them might work with the adapter. I'm afraid there's a history of problems with so-called USB to legacy port adapters. In many cases they just don't work.
