Question Old Electronic Equipment

Hi,

I'm new and this is only my second post, so please let me know if this is not the appropriate place for it.

My wife and I just cleared out our garage after several decades and found boxes of PC boards, cables, and even old telephone equipment. What's the best thing to do with it? It's unlikely that anyone would have any use for most of this (with the exception of some of the cables), but I would hate for it to end up in the landfill if I can avoid it. It just occurred to me that I also have several old desktop PCs as well as laptops that I should probably get rid of at the same time.

An electronics flea market would probably be a good place for this, but I'm unaware of any coming up here. I can take it all to the local thrift store and let them decide. (Most of it would still probably go to the landfill.) Other ideas?

Wow, that's a challenge, I could do that. It would take me a couple of days, though. I'll see what I can do.

Some older (1980s and older) computer staff can be valuable, Look for brands like Apple, Sinclair, TRS, Atari, Commodore or dedicated games.

Its probably not as old as this. Its from Nov 1965

though probably more useful since computer this was part of is long dead.

There are places like repc that specialize on recycling/reselling old electronics keeping them away from landfills.
You should check if there is something similar in your region.
