Old game help

I'm just wondering if anyone would know how to help me with this problem.

I have got a gaming PC and im trying to run tiger Woods 08 for my dad but I have windows 10 and it installs but won't run as says drivers etc even though I run a gtx evga 1070 sc, but that's not the problem it's windows 10.

I've gone and installed windows 7 and now running 2 OS and even though it says it's compatible with Windows 7 it doesn't install past 9%. I copied all the installed files from win 10 and put onto win 7 and when I run it, it says MFC71.DLL missing.

Stab in the dark as it's an old game but been trying for hours to get it running and I can't, hoping someone on here might have a solution or had the same problem before.

You can't just copy the game files from an installation, you have to run the setup on the computer. Install the game again on Windows 7.

That's what I did, I only copied all the game files that installed on windows 10 across because it won't install on windows 7 as it gets stuck on 9% says something like course\paw/paw.cl can't retrieve or something.

Only have win 7 since I heard it worked on that so installed that after I couldn't work it out for win 10. I'll have a look at that link, thanks.

You need to run the setup. Sounds like it can't read the disk to copy that file, make sure it's not smudged, maybe try a different disk drive. It's missing the DLL because those often do not get put into the same directory as the game during setup, and they also need to be registered.

The disc is fine, it's confusing because it gets stuck on 9% on windows 7, I restart and launch windows 10 and it installs 100% but because it's not compatible with win 10 it won't play :/

windows 10 is great for gaming lol...

sad thing is you went from a real OS to malware called win- 10 you now do as they want not as you need

if you got the retail pc copy maybe rebuy it from steam as a cloud based rental ?? what they want is to remove any ownership of software and then you got to add there clients on top of all that to keep a eye on you and there game when data collecting [LOL]

your personal computer with 10 is now a public one

Just install Visual Studio .NET 2003 (get the whole package,I linked to the update because it shows the dll)

Solved! My windows 7 didn't have direct 9 (X) so I've had to install that and it's now installed past 9% and hopefully will work
