I consider myself as a gamer, but many laugh at me when they hear my system specs; It's the old Celeron D 330, 1gb of ram and ATi Radeon 9250. I mainly play Minecraft, and some very old FPSs. My problem is: I'm getting a new PC very soon, and since I'm not able to spend a fortune on it, I'll probably get x4 740 and HD 7770 with 4gb of ram. I do expect a lot since I missed 10 years of gaming. I'll be playing on old 1280x1024 monitor and I won't change it till it's completely broken. I would like to play all of new games on med/high settings, but even the lowest settings are fine. Last week I played COD MW3 on friends PC on lowest settings (640x480) with 20-23 FPS, he found it unplayable, but I enjoyed it, so FPS is not the problem. Am I expecting too much

Just remebered, I know that Minecraft is single threaded, but what FPS could I expect. Also what could be FPS on Crysis 3, BF 3 and 4 on med on my 1280x1024 res

Get an X4 750K and 7770. You will be able to play BF4 maxed out with 45+ fps on that res and crysis 3 too but with 25+ fps. Minecraft maxed out 200+ fps. MW 3 maxed out 65+ fps. Also your friends PC is a <removed>, cannot even play MW3 on the lowest setting and with 640x480 res...

x4 740 + 7770 + 4G RAM is a nice budget oriented GAMING config. Especially for a lower resolution monitor like yours - you will not be disappointed.
+1 to YTeodosiev.
750K is +$5-6 on many stores and unlocked - overclocking is a useful feature if you can allow several dollars more.
