Old gpu possible faulty, will it fry my new rig?

so ive got an old 9600gt, it has been salvaged from an old pc and we never found out what the problem was, is it worth trying out in my new build or is it likely to fry everything else?

Apart from getting itself fried, not much else that can happen. But the 9600 is an old video card that won't work acceptably for most of the modern games, you might want to upgrade (now that also depends if you're into gaming, I supposed you were since you've posted in this section).

yh i am looking for an upgrade but im going to use it while i get a replacment i wont be able to play many games, but at least i have a display!
