old gx280 question about memory

Ok I know this is a old pc I don't use it for anything but watching movies on Netflix and Kodi its a gx280 running windows 10 with a niva GeForce 210 video card 3.4ghz cpu Pentium 4 with 4 gigs of memery well I recently did I clean os on it and it had windows 10 before I did so I reinstalled windows 10 but showing my memory is shows I only have 3.0 usable and before I did the clean install it had 3.99 usable why is this I didn't change the bios setting or anything

You have probably installed a 32bit os
32bit os can only read ram memory up 3gb even if you put 8gb
if you want to use a ram more than 3gb you'd want to use a 64 bit os

if that's the case I'm crazy because it had 32bit before and still said 3.99 usable it is 64 bit processor and I I did install 32 bit again because I tried windows 10 64bit and its not compatible with my cpu but I'm for sure I had 32 bit before because it said 64 bit processor running 32 os
