Old hard drive

I have an old Samsung hard drive; model number MP0603H. It says PATA. I want to buy an enclosure that will fit this hard drive. Any suggestions? I also accidentally broke the corner off of the circuit board stupidly trying to take it apart. All of the connectors are in place, but will it still work?

Hello... You would need a "IDE" Hardrive enclosure... having a IDE Hardrive means it's age is very old... do you need just temporary access to it? then something like this will work.

and you can get access through a USB port for many different types of devices.

60GB pata drive? Seriously? What's the use for it?
USB flash drive will be way more convenient to use, faster and with more capacity.

Anyway - if pcb is broken, then it is not worth to revive it.

Thank you for the response; here is the hard drive. I just want to get some pictures off of there if I can. It is a PATA drive, so any suggestions on what to purchase would be wonderful.

Hello... Doesn't look that bad or in the middle of circuit paths, and worth a try... you need a "IDE" connection to USB. Local Computer Re-cycling outlets could have a low cost enclosure.

If you aren't able to get the drive working with the pcb being somewhat broken just order the same drive off ebay and swap the PCB. I've done it a few times and have gotten it to work. Just try an enclosure first.

As mentioned, PATA and IDE are essentially the same thing. This enclosure should serve you. Internal IDE with external USB connection. Aluminum case for good heat dissipation.

Awesome, thank you for your suggestion. Yes, the laptop has been sitting around collecting dust for awhile now; I just want to get pictures off of it.
