I was wondering if it would be okay to use the hard drive in the PC i am using now in a computer i will build later down the road? I want to build a PC, but people told me that it is not possible to transfer the items i already have on to a new computer, and i have Camtasia Studio 9 edition software and i need that on my computer at all times and it is very expensive. I am not sure what the exact hard drive is, but what i do know is that it has 1TB of storage, it has windows 10 home 64 bit, and all of my expensive applications which are all things i either want or need. So i was wondering if there would be any negative or positive affects of using this old hard drive. I do not have lots of stuff on it and delete all of the junk on it, so i am not sure. Or a way to put my $200 editing software on a new computer without paying that price again( I do not still have the licence key) would also be greatly appreciated.

Solution
If your Camtasia Studio 9 is currently installed and running you can see what your Registration Key is.

1. Open Camtasia.
2. Select Help > Technical Support.
3. Scroll down until you locate RegistrationKey. The key is 25 characters comprised of letters and numbers.

Moving a drive with an already installed OS on it is a 100% maybe.

3 possible outcomes:

1. It boots up just fine
2. It fails completely
3. It works, but you get lingering issues later.

I've seen all 3 outcomes.

For your "expensive applications", do you have the original install .exe and whatever licensing info there is?

What was lacking in the replies to your previous thread?
