Hi guys.

Long time lurker first time poster!

I have recently taken ownership of a new gaming rig to replace the monstrosity I had before. My question in a nutshell is can I put my old 2TB HD into my new rig? I currently have Windows 8.1 already installed on my SSD in the new rig so don't require the OS from the old HD (which is also Windows 8.1). The though of copying all my music/pictures/videos over in chunks is just too much to bear so hoping I can do it the easy way. Little more info is that I already have a new 2TB HD in the new PC for game storage.

If there's any more info required please ask.

Thanks

If it has a SATA interface then sure. I would suggest cloning the old to the new because you don't want to be relying on an old drive for storage.

Remember to keep backups!

Of course if it has a different interface then you can get an adapter.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Both are SATA so that shouldn't be an issue and I think I will clone it over. Are there any programs you would recommend?
