Hello, I'm going to build my first pc. I have ordered this SSD where I will install my OS on. But I also have a 1TB HDD from my old PC which is 9 year old but it still works. But on the HDD there is another OS on it.

My HDD: WD Black SATA 3 Gb/s WD1001FALS 1TB
My SSD: Crucial MX 300 525GB

Can someone explain me step by step how I could install my HDD in my new build without trouble and losing the files?

Solution
Simple. Don't connect your old HDD until you have new OS on SSD installed. Once your machine is fully running on new OS, you can power it off and install HDD. Then boot PC, go to BIOS, make sure SSD is first in boot device list (or at least before HDD), save & exit, and that's all.

^ Also:
Once the system has restarted from the SSD, bear in mind NONE of your programs on the HDD will work, your files will be intact-game saves, photos, videos and probably browser favourites-but the installed software will not.
I suggest you grab a 16Gb USB drive then download and save out all the latest hardware drivers to that before doing the swap, that way you'll have fully updated system software available to install once Windows has done its stuff.
It's possible you can use the same drive to hold your important documents to preserve them , allowing you to fully reformat the HDD and clear it out for use later.
