Hello guys,I recently built my new gaming pc and I installed windows and everything I need.I have 1 TB WD Blue HDD in my current PC that has windows 8.1 installed on it and everything works fine.
My question :
Can I take my HDD from old pc that has some games I want to transfer to my pc and some of my photos/documents and just install it in my case and copy paste stuff I want on my new HDD and just remove it after ? (I have windows 8.1 installed on that hdd as well)

Yes. Photos and docs, no problem.
Steam games, see this: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129
Other applications, no. They'd need to be reinstalled.

Yes you can use your old drive in the new system however you need to make sure that your new drive stays as the boot drive in the Bios boot order. The games will have to be reinstalled but the files can just be accessed as usual.

I just tought would it be problem if I have a windows 8.1 already installed on it ?
I already installed windows 8.1 on my new HDD.
And can I just move games from steamapps than verify game cache or something like that ?

As long as that drive isn't in the boot order, no problem.
I have a USB SATA/IDE cable for just this situation. Connect the old drive, copy what you need.
