Question Old hdd issue after installing os on new ssd

Today i got a new 128gb ssd for my os as my hdd one crashed on my laptop , had a fresh installation, os working perfectly fine but my hdd connected via caddy in my cd/dvd port whatever it is called which i want to use as a storage drive is very slow, when i access the files in any drive of the hdd it freezes, trying to install new application can't choose directory as it freezes there too to show the folders . No process works properly like extracting,etc.


Edit : after installing all windows updates and drivers and few hours later the speed is quite good now , those lags and freeze gone.

Actually after installing all the drivers , the speed quite improved , but i guess the main issue is the dvd reader port, opening any folder it acts like it reading a dvd/cd , but will see a bit if starts getting bad than now, will change it then.
