Question Old hhd to fresh pc with a twist

Hello, i know there are a lot of threads regarding this issue (title) but mine has a twist.

So my old pc broke down and i bought my friends pc at a good price.
I made a research about 'swapping hdds' to different computers and all threads recommended a clean hdd for a new mobo ( new build ).
BUT it happens my 'new' pc has the same motherboard as my old one who broke down , so i was wandering what if i just swap it. I know i have to to update drivers etc but is it possible that this will work?

Yes, if the motherboard is identical then it should work, it's worth a try, what could go wrong?

Simply plug it in your new pc and see what happens, let us know how it went.
