very old machine and a very new one, looking to use the old machine as a second monitor if possible.

what would be the options on making this possible outside of the windows 10 projecting option.. this results in a connection constantly disconnecting due to protected content..

is there other ways to workround this maybe a wired scenario ?

Nothing wired unless the laptop happens to have a video in port which I've only seen on a couple of models. There are some network screen sharing programs but not sure how kept up they were and how they run on systems. https://zoneos.com/zonescreen/
