Old laptop hardive >>> New desktop

I want to move this old hard drive into my desktop and use it as back up, how would one go about deleting all of the data on this old hard drive?

Delete the partion?
(Just plug it into a sata port and delete it?)

Yes, simply plug it and do quick format. or you like to re-partition?

Hi there CinnBadd,

Yeah, you can just reformat it. Some users write zeros on the drives when moving to another computer, though I think that a simple format will do.
Apart from that, make sure that your computer case has 2.5'' slots. In case it hasn't, you may need some sort of HDD mounting bracket.
