Hi,

I need to build my 3rd PC, and wondering if I can make use of of an old Lian LI V-1000 all aluminum case or the Corsair Obsidian D650D I have now. Both cases were pricey at the time, so hoping I can make use of one or the other. I prefer the Lian Li from an appearance point of view, but either are OK.

My new build would be an air cooled i7, one M.2 SSD, one SATA3 SSD (M.2 or 2.5"), one disk drive, one DVD player, 2 sticks of memory, and some graphics card if I need one. The Lian-Li has just two USB 2.0 ports up front a Firewire up front. The Corsair has 2 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.0, and Firewire I think.

Anyway, hate to just scrap these old cases, but if they do not work with today's technology, guess it is time for a new case. Before I add a case to my shopping list, thought I would ask here first on what I have now.

Thanks,

Phil

Yes, ATX form factor specifications haven't changed.
The Corsair is a bit more modern, the Lianli lacking front panel USB3.0 is kinda not great nowadays.

Firewire isn't a thing anymore though.
