Old modem causing my new router to bottleneck?

hello, i just moved into my new house and im using the same old modem sky hub (im getting a new one) as before. previously i used to get 4/5 mbps at my old house with stable connection but now the speed only reaches up to 0.5 mbps. i tried using Asus RT-AC51U router with ethernet (Cat 5e) on my pc but it still the same speed as before. I don't if its the modem causing the issue or i have done something wrong in the setting of the router.

Reset the modem and the router.
Test your speeds again.

i tried resetting it says i got 5.5 mbps but when i download i get 0.7 mbps only. i used Ethernet from the modem and the router same result.

Skip the router. Connect a computer directly to the modem. Test again.
Try the new modem. Modems do go bad.
Try switching cables.
Other than that, call the Internet Provider.
