Question Old motherboard, not sure which SSD to get

I already have a 128gb SSD which I've used for windows and for gaming, I would uninstall games when finished with them but now it isn't large enough to install modern games, so I'm looking for a second SSD to install next to it.

My current SSD is a ADATA SP550 SCSI

The motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97-D3H-CF

I know I want 1tb, or 500gb would be enough because I uninstall games when finished, I'll keep the 128gb just for windows.

Any suggestions? There's lots of different types I don't want to just get the cheapest 1tb drive and it doesn't work.

That board is from around 2015 and includes an M.2 port.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't install any 2.5 inch SSD that suits your budget.

Standard choice would be something like a Crucial MX 500 or maybe a Samsung.

It looks like the sp550 is a 2.5 sata ssd.

If you want another 2.5 look at the crucial mx500 series.

I don't see why your motherboard won't work with a 1TB SSD.

There is a list of compatible 1TB SSD here for the motherboard, so regardless what SSD brand you buy from, it will work.

120gb is just too small for the C drive.
As it fills up, and many things default there, it will lose performance and endurance.
I would simply clone the C drive to a 1tb 2.5" ssd.
You can buy a Samsung 070 EVO for <$100.
Do not get enamored by fast pcie m.2 speeds.
