Old notebook - new SSD?

My parents have like 10 years old notebook (specs below) which is really slow. I was wondering if buying a new SSD (Samsung 860 Evo or similar 2.5" SSD) would be worth it, if for example RAM or CPU wouldn't bee too much of a bottleneck for the SSD.


Notebook: Acer Aspire 7730G
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (P7350) @2.00GHz (2 cores)
RAM: 2x2 GB DDR2 (667Mhz)

Sure, you can replace the HDD with a SSD. It will improve overall system performance quite a bit. The CPU and memory the system has will not be an issue for the SSD.

An SSD will breath a new lease of life into the laptop with:

- Faster boot times
- Applications will run faster
- Internet browsing will be faster
- System shut-down will be faster

Obviously, it would be ideal if you had 8GB of RAM and a faster processor but an SSD will increase the speed so much, you will think it's a new computer!
