Old P7P55D motherboard RAM upgrade

Hi,

First off, I'm new on these forums so be gentle

Im looking to upgrade my RAM since its only 4gb's atm and I feel like my PC is slow because of it.
I got an ASUS P7P55D motherboard and a Intel Core i7 860 Boxed CPU running at 2933 MHZ.

Ive found the QVL for my motherboard but its kinda outdated and I can't seem to find any of the tested RAM. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think the G skill website might be wrong on the 8 gb dimms since my motherboard supports up to 4gb dimms right? With a max of 16gb total

Usually, it's recommended to use single kit.
16 gb are more than enough. Upgrading to 32 gb would increase the load on the CPU.

my current bios version is Award Software International, INC. F11, 8/20/2010. So maybe ill need that update.

Check the version in BIOS or by using CPU-Z
Make also sure that the power supply can provide the needed power to the card.

Second one is best:

F3-10666CL9S-8GBXL

8GB is double sided, so no problem there.

It is DDR3-1333, so it is supported by CPU, no problem there.

That is the ideal 8GB RAM

The Corsair one has a much higher Mhz then the Gskill one.. any way I can be sure it will work on my rig?
