Hi

You guys always give the best advice for such things.

I'll be overseeing a few home upgrades, including the switch to the hopper, a new router, and a large nas device created from an old desktop.

It used to run windows xp pro, but the hard drive failed and the PC was replaced for faster tech. I have the disc if I'll need it.

I want the nas drive to be used as extra storage for the hopper since internet is limited for online streaming. all streaming will be offline, including dish's offline transfer option and wireless streaming through a chromecast. It will also store digital versions of a movie collection of ~ 20dvd+5bd. The topology will be the hopper and nas connected via ethernet and a large group of wireless devices (3 laptops, 4 phones).

For use with the hopper, the media server must follow the dlna standard. I can max out the storage at 8-10 TB.

How should I go about creating the server?
