Old Power supply + 1070 HOF

Hi everyone, so i just ordered my Galax Gtx 1070 Hall of fame and i will have it tomorrow.
but I am not sure if I should change my 7 years old power supply ? it is ADATA 80+ Bronze 550w.
it is running very well and never had a problem with it, Has 2*6+2 connectors where I'll need both for the HOF and its clean. no dust in it. my question is, can I run my HOF on it for a short period of time (2-3 weeks) until I get a new PSU or There is a risk in it and I should wait all that time :/ ? I mean do power supplies lose efficiency over time? and is there is a way to check it? Thanks.

I think it should be fine for 2-3 weeks if you dont stress the gpu diehard.
just play some league csgo runescape meanwhile

In many cases I hear that people got their GPU's fried because of old PSU's, could that possibly happen ? I mean its very old..
