Hello, I have a seagate 1TB , used for DVR.

I trying to repair it, after plug , head move from start point to end and back to holder, with beeping once , then stop moving and platter keep spinning.
My pc found a HDD with almost 4GB space.
I tried SeaTools but all tests failed.

I'm wonder, where is the problem? PCB ? Platter? Head?
thanks

When a drive starts up, it tries to load firmware from a reserved area on the platters (System Area, SA). If it cannot reach the SA (due to a head or media fault), it reverts to identifying itself with an Identify Device template stored in the "ROM" on the PCB. This template reports a reduced capacity of 3.86GB.

In short, your drive has internal problems.

Thank you so much, I really don't count on this hard anyway. It's a educational and experimental to me.
