Solution RetiredChief Feb 15, 2013 Fresh Install = re-install all drivers, reload all programs. 2nd HDD used for storage should be OK.

If the Chipset driver for the HDD is incorrect it will not boot. When moving a "OS" drive to new computer with differnet MB - It is BEST to re-install the oS. And Yes it's fine to move a "old" SSD to a new system. Upvote 0 Downvote

M mikegeorge Honorable Jul 16, 2012 39 0 10,530 Feb 15, 2013 #4 the os is retail copy driver won't be the same because it's switching from 990fx to z77 mb so best to install fresh? also the storage drive would that be fine just plugging into the new system? or have to install as well? edit: also for everything else that is installed on the os drive will have to be reinstalled as well? (ie. java, adobe stuff, mse, etc.) Upvote 0 Downvote
