I have a Dell Precision M6700. The motherboard blew up. I bought a refurbished fairly-bare M6700. It came with a 40GB SSD running System 10 as primary drive. My old unit ran a 1 TB SSD running System 7 as primary drive. My question - can I put the 1 TB SSD into the 'new' laptop without any fear of it not functioning properly?

Thanks,
Tom

"System 7" - You mean Windows 7?

These are identical laptops?
Not just similar...absolutely identical?

If so, it may boot up just fine.
The Windows 7 license, however....that will almost certainly fail.

Yes, the units are identical. I was/am hopeful Windows 7 doesn't give me any problem.

Thanks for your comment.
