Old system newer amd gpu

I want to add my old gpu sapphire r9 280x on my old system which has an Intel quad cpu at 3ghz socket 775 an Asus p5k psu heroichi 650watt and 4 gb ddr2 ram
In pc-specs.com it's in the compatible mobo list
Can this happen?
