Currently looking at repairing an old PC at work. I replaced the hard drive already as the machine would power on for a few seconds and then immedietly power off.
Now when I power the machine on it stays on for about 1 or 2 minutes before powering off. I changed coolant paste and dusted the machine so it's cooling the CPU fine and isn't a thermal issue.
The computer monitor comes out of standby but displays only a black screen.
The speaker is not giving me a positive for booting up but I don't have a spare speaker to hand to test if it is working or not.
Any ideas why it would power down so soon and why I would get no response to the monitor?
