So I had my computer built back in 2005 or 2006, it was the sweet momma of it's time, first systems to have SLI, and that sort of thing.
Well, 2009, i'm a bit out-dated I just can't seem to pull together the funds to finish my new computer up, but i'm getting bored not being able to play the newest games! So I decided i'd upgrade my video card in my old computer, it's still a decent machine.
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
Athlon X2 4400(2.2gh dual core)
2 gig PC3200 DDR1 ram
7800GTX(used to be 2, but one burnt out.)
and a 550 watt power supply.
This is my question/s will my PSU be enough to handle the card? it ran two 7800 GTX's in SLI for a while.
is PCI-E 1.0 and 2.0 compatible, if I have a PCI-E 2.0 card but a PCI-E 1 slot, will the card work?
I ask this, because if it did I would have just bought a 260 GTX. ._.
I found the card for 89.00 dollars, on ebay, 10 in stock. and for it's performance, and still being a PCI-E 1.0 card, it's a significant upgrade to what i've got!
