I'm getting parts together to build my first PC. My current one was a prebuilt but I did swap the PSU to a Corsair GS600, but this was quite a few years ago. Has technology moved on for me to need to buy a new one, or will this be fine? It's not modular but I can accept that. Thanks

It was okay for the time. But you lose about 20% of your top end as caps age. Also the rails get nosier and arent as good to transients.

All PSUs age. Even my top rated corsair AX850 is showing some age. Its still good enough according to my scope but i dont push it above 600 watts.

Then there's new features like ultra low current pull in standby mode. (i think haswell introduced that requirement). And overall improvements in things like noise and voltage/ current protection.

Btw: jonnyguru is the mastermind when it comes to power supplies. So i will defer to him in terms of knowledge.
