I'm trying to find a way to use a newer power supply in a Fujitsu Siemens Celsius R630 workstation PC. My only concern is a white, 8 pin, straight line connector coming directly from the power supply. The power supply is a HIPRO HP-W700WC3. See pictures please. I've not seen this type of connector on a power supply before and I'm hoping to find an adapter of some sort. So far, no luck, but I don't know what I'm looking for or what it's called. Any help identifying this connector or an adapter that will allow me to use a "normal" power supply is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is a tough one. I'm not positive about what I found but I'll share it with you in the hopes you can research it further. It appears the straight 8-pin is to control the fan in the power supply and you may be able to ignore it. Here's what I found-

I think the connector is called a 'PC 2004 8-pin'

I did not find any adapters for this at all and as I said I am not positive that this information I've found is 100% correct in its' application to your hardware, but it appears to apply to your power supply. I hope this is some help to you as it was a lengthy research.

Solution

Wow! Awesome job finding all this information. I'm going to purchase a "normal" power supply (probably 1kW) and give it a try.

Thanks to you identifying this connector, I've found the following (in hopes of helping anyone else with this problem):

Again, I'm going to try a different PSU and I'll post back here with the results.

Thanks again, Archaic59!!!!!!
