Question Oldie and I thought it was a goodie?? AMD A10 5800k

So I sold my old gaming PC to my brother a couple years ago, I had purchased it in 2013.
Have to say the thing ran great for years. Still does as far as I can tell.

It has an AMD A10-5800k, here's the thing. I just upgraded him to Win 10 and hadn't upgraded the AMD Drivers in a While (years, has an AMD HD 7800 video card as well.)
Everything seems to be fine, but in dxdiag it says the CPU is a quad core, yet in AMD Adrenaline it says it's only 2 cores. Just wanted to know what the deal is with that, first time I'm seeing it. Does it in fact have 4 cores yet only runs factory on 2? (never overclocked the thing)

does it see 4 thread? that all it matter.

I think AMD is seeing the 2 'compute units' which make up the processor. But it's still considered a quad core since it has 4 physical and logical cores.

I don't think any of us are 'experts'--we've just seen a thing or two and know where to search.
