Currently have a
HIS 6950 2GB Iceq X Turbo
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz, 3440 Mhz,
ASUS P6X58D Premium
12 GB RAM @ 1333
Installing a new 250GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO

Still runs a lot of games really well 5 years later. But, looking for a boost in graphics to eek out some extra life here for R6 Seige. Would I be better served to buy an additional 6950 and run in Crossfire or spend about the same amount of money on something new around $100? Thinking that with adding the additional 6950, would at least have 4gb for textures.

Issues will be lack of driver support on current platform for additional 6950, lack of chipset drivers for any Windows 10 upgrade. All acknowledged.

I just upgraded from the 6950, such a great card <3 You could crossfire them, but you would still only have 2gb ram. In crossfire, the amount of usable ram is that of the smallest card, not the 2 cards added together. You would see a performance bump, however I don't think it would be worth it. If you need more horsepower you will be much better off saving for a newer card. Ive seen the r9 390 as low as $200 in some sales the past few days.
