I've currently got two 27 inch IPS panels and am looking to change to an Ultrawide with one of the 27 inchers above.

I have some concerns about some of the QD-OLED options. Obviously looking at the Alienware and Samsung G8.

Have any of you experienced burn in relate to the task bar? I'd usually have work on the monitor during the day or specific apps divvied up like discord and a browser. I have no sense of how long OLED takes to burn in but I'm a little concerned considering it will be on roughly 16 hours a day.

Any insights are appreciated!

I've personally used the LG Ultragear 45" for a few months strictly playing video games with HUDs, GUIs, etc. No signs of burn in. Modern OLED panels are much more durable than they used to be and the technology for ensuring the longevity of the device is much more sophisticated. 16 hours a day on a single screen seems like a bit of an extreme use case, but enabling things like pixel shift as well as the rest of the protective measures should keep your monitor working fine. Someone might have a different experience. Hope this helped, take care.

I appreciate the reply.

My main concern would be the taskbar. Do you hide your taskbar automatically or notice anything there?
